
About the Council
- A body of decision makers from agencies and organizations that have
contact with family members and family violence, child abuse, domestic
violence, and elder abuse.
- Representatives from health, clergy, schools, law enforcement, judiciary,
public defenders, prosecution and social services.
- Promote a coordinated response to family violence in our communities.
- Encourage effective family violence prevention, education and intervention
strategies.
- Develop programs that improve the court's ability to serve the community
in matters related to domestic violence.
- Organize, plan and sponsor conferences, workshops, and training on
many aspects of family violence.
- Develop and distribute domestic violence protocols with community
service providers.
- Collaborate with community agencies to identify needs, develop resources,
and plan for service implementation.
- Work together with the Illinois State Council to enhance communication
and promote public awareness and outreach.
